Variety is the spice of life

May 21st, 2007

Speedo MontageOne thing that I have discovered in the world of swimsuits, is that the variety of mens swimswear is rather limited. Two primary designs really, the type commonly referred to as ‘Speedo’s’ and shorts. Oh, and you can have either in blue as well… Women’s swimwear is an entirely different playing field. Actually, a playing field in another country, perhaps Australia, I like Australia… Anyway, I digress. Right, variety – You might also say that women’s swimwear falls into two categories: two-piece & one-piece, you just need to look at the one-piece category to see where the variety lies – back design! Rather than reading my musings, head over to the gallery to see for yourself!

As time moves on…

Acrim at the poolWhen I last updated my website… I thought that there was not much more that I could say or do… Over the years times have changed. We have moved on slightly.
If I helped just one person to get into and enjoy wearing a one-piece swimsuit all the work would have been worth it… All these years later, I still see links and references to my site from all over the world..

I feel men wanting to wear a one-piece swimsuit is a strong as ever…. The way it should be….

On the serious side… Yes men can wear and enjoy wearing swimsuits in public but it should not be done in a perverted fetish way… I am totally against people who wear swimsuits for the wrong reasons… Erections in swimsuits is not the way forward.

Still years later I have never had any problems in public wearing swimsuits….Maybe the odd second glance but that is about it… I look at this one like this – if you look good and look confident you are going to get the odd second glance, if you were a woman it would be the same…

Editor’s note: Thank-you to Acrim for this second post!

Acrim on the BeachAcrim: Yes i do still wear one-piece swimsuits in public……
This photo was taken about six months ago on holiday…
With the Speedo swimsuit i am also wearing some nude summer tights..pantyhose….For a more finished more natural look… Plus they give me great sun protection in the hot sun….

Fun in the sun

Female in wool turtleneckYou can’t really have a swimwear website without a little public safety announcement! One advantage with one-piece swimwear is that it does provide somewhat more skin coverage than traditional brief or shorts style swimwear. Whether this is the sole reason for wearing one-piece swimsuits, I will leave up to you! The BBC News website today had an interesting article on sun protection which centered around denim & wool based clothing provided the Stingray Sunsuitbest protection against harmful UV rays. Although the lady sporting a wool turtleneck (pictured right) top clearly demonstrated that attractiveness is definately possible whilst wearing wool, how practical this is on the beach is yet to be seen!

Ultimately to stay save from the sun on the beach, sunsuits/uv protective suits are the way to go. A quick search on Google will reveal some possibilities. You could even wear a swimsuit underneath…

Wearing with confidence! (Part 2)

May 1st, 2007

Speedo HydrasuitPart 2 is mainly a collection of possible situations where wearing on one piece swimsuit is pretty risk free…

6. If you are into sailing, etc – a swimsuit is actually a fairly practical thing to wear beneath a wetsuit.
7. Whening swimming in the sea, few people will actually notice what you are wearing, but for self-confidence, wear a dark coloured t-shirt over the top of the swimsuit. When feeling a little braver, take the swimsuit off but keep your shoulders low!
8. A swimsuit with cycling shorts over looks very similar to a ‘legsuit’ which Speedo make a variation of for men in their Fastskin range.
9. For those cycling to work or even just for pleasure, a swimsuit (especially the hydrasuit or even better the triathlon swimsuits) makes an excellent bottom layer. The hydrasuit with it’s zip back and some shorts over the top is unlikely to attract many stares!
